In 1902, trains made travel off the farm accessible and familiar. It became easy to visit relatives and friends who had moved away. Still, the journeys could be arduous with multiple stops and new places one hadn't seen before. This family adventure starts in south central Wisconsin and travels to Lake Superior. Margie Havey and her children, a seven-year-old son named Francis and a five-year-old daughter Margaret, boarded a train in her hometown of Lyndon Station, WI. They are traveling to Ashland, WI to visit Margie's sister Mary and her husband George Forsyth, leaving Margie's husband Patrick behind to work the farm. As we follow their travels, tragedy strikes the family. We witness their loss, grief, and genuine community support as it encompasses the family, giving them the strength to move forward.
