This novel focuses on Keith Stewart, an engineer who spends his time inventing pieces of miniature engineering and writing about the same subject. He is a simple, honest, uncomplicated man, but when he is unexpectedly made guardian of his 10-year-old niece, he rises to a new challenge magnificently and learns a lot about himself in the process.
