Eating the Reflection of an Echo is a collection of 35 poems, the subjects of which are mostly rooted in technology or in how humans shape or will or have been shaped by our technologies, particularly the Internet and Artificial Intelligence. The Internet has become mostly a catering service that also feeds upon us; and AI is designed to mimic certain aspects of human behavior and intelligence, and... love it, hate it, or fear it, AI is a product of human ingenuity and creativity. Possibly we may become self-absorbed in it. To our many senses, our computational devices have become the mirror upon our vanity. As to whether or not we will use said vanity to store our makeup or allow it to define our makeup, is certainly a question we need to answer for ourselves. When I seek answers or need to reduce stress, I enjoy unwinding myself and working through the puzzle-like word mathematics involved in writing a terzanelle poem.
