When Rissa gathers her warriors to hold off the coming army, Luther's father finally comes around and accepts his place in the coming war. He is a leader of her army and as they gather, they are all given special powers. Then in the time it takes for the army to ready itself, Steel gets his powers. When the power explodes in the glory, Steel becomes invisible, he can still see everyone around him, but they can't see him. Rissa tells him time is running out so he will have to learn while using his power. But when he comes to Winsome's aid, he feels like he's coming home, holding her in his arms. He's not sure what that means but maybe being invisible is just what he needs to watch over everyone.
