The Storyteller is a short story about two friends who examine the moral lessons of some selected African folktales. The narrator, one of the main characters of the story, adopts the setting of a small African community. The story revolves around Abugri, the key character of the story who is pessimistic but deeply religious. Mbabilla, the narrator of the story, is also deeply religious but optimistic and appears to love the company of his pessimistic friend.
