Carole Allen Bailey was born and raised in South Carolina and lived a majority of those years in the low country in Allendale County. She graduated from Columbia College with a degree in Business Education and a minor in English. During that time, several of her writings were published in the college literary magazine, and she was an officer in the South Carolina Collegiate Press Association. After moving to Florida in 1973, she continued to teach in the areas of English, Business, and Computer Science at the high school and adult vocational levels.

Additional opportunities led Carole to writing, editing, and publishing for a variety of outlets: pre-publication textbooks and test banks, business proposals, curriculum design, self-paced coursework, training materials, How-To manuals, technical writing and documentation. In the latter part of the 1970s, she was part of the educator groups developing criteria and material for what eventually became Florida's Sunshine State Standards in the area of Business Education.

Her life-long dream of publishing a book of fiction began to be realized in November, 2009 with the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) event sponsored by Florida State University. She surpassed her goal of writing a 50,000+ word novel in 30 days which became the basis for her first novel The Lady & Her Porch.

Carole is co-leader for Panhandle Writers Guild and member of Writers Aglow and Florida Writers Association.
