Peter Craig, age 30. A copywriting executive in an advertising firm is one of us. He has a fading dream of escape and riches, a house in the suburbs, a mortgage and a marriage that after six years has reached its sell-by-date. So it's no surprise that on the night of his birthday he succeeds in going down the rabbit hole, slipping through the net of the world in search of love and oblivion. Love, however, always comes at a high price and oblivion is never a cure for inner pain. When Peter connects, when he succeeds in realising that oblivion is not what he wants he also falls in love.
