Danielle yearns to be a writer but she doesn't have a story until she meets an older woman named Carine and an unlikely friendship begins. This is a mysterious story about friendship and hope and the skeleton's in our closet. Carine invites Danielle to her old plantation home deep in the woods and the swamps of Louisiana and begins to share with her new found friend the dark family secrets she's kept hidden for so long.

Danielle becomes obsessed with Carine's life and realizes that this story will be the book she has always wanted to write. Danielle and Carine begin meeting at the old plantation house on Saturdays where Danielle is introduced to Rosa who is Carine's maid. Danielle begins seeing an unearthly little girl that no one else can see and has visions of a woman who died in the house. Even with the fear of these ghostly visitations nothing will stop Danielle from hearing Carine's story.

Danielle fears that she will lose her sanity before she can finish the book but nothing can prepare her for its ending....
