As Mother Alligator helps her hatchlings to the safety of the swamp, she finds that she has a very special baby. Adora is an American Alligator, yet she differs in that she is an albino. With no protection from the direct sunlight, Adora is forced to stay underneath the shady limbs of the swamp as her siblings enjoy lazing in the sun. Mother Alligator has to watch over her more closely than the others because Adora’s unusual coloring makes her vulnerable to predators. Just when life seems unbearable for the little alligator, a grandfather out fishing with his two young granddaughters hears and follows the sound of Adora’s cries of pain as the sun burns her tender body. Careful to not disturb the alligator family, the trio seeks help from park rangers. Adora is captured, taken to a local zoo, and a new life begins for her as she is introduced to her new home where extra care is taken to protect this rare and beautiful creature.
