All six titles in the Ned Yorke series. With adventures in the Caribbean as buccaneer, privateer and saviour of Jamaica and British interests, involving all of the inevitable fights and intrigues associated with the Spanish Main, whilst also coping with ineptitude and awkward alliances made by his own government, the seveteenth century Ned Yorke emerges as a true hero. He and his successors are later remembered by a seaman of the same name and family who is charged with fighting the Battle of the Atlantic in World War II. In Convoy and Decoy, Ned Yorke is attached to the Admiralty after surviving a sustained air attack at sea, and assigned the job of discovering why so many merchantmen appear to be sunk from inside convoys. His daredevil yet wholly believable exploits later lead to him being instructed by Churchill to secretly capture a U-boat at sea so as to gain access to its uprated Enigma machine and codes, thus bringing to an end the 'Great Blackout' which is allowing the Germans to decimate shipping in the Atlantic.
