The present book in the user-friendly format is a first publication on "Veterinary Physiotherapy" for the benefits of students and beginners, comprising authentic information on historical aspects to modality, indications, contraindications and rehabilitation protocol for clinical patients. This book is a compilation of scholarly and practical knowledge in the field of physiotherapy for ready reference of the users. The chapters selected in this book cater the needs of veterinary students, internists, academicians, clinicians and practising veterinarians. Mechanisms of action of different modalities are described in brief for better understanding of the effects. The content of this book has been kept keeping in view the revised curriculum of the Veterinary Council of India for undergraduate students to fulfil the academic interest related to course work of VSR-5 11: Veterinary Orthopaedics and Lameness (1+1) and post-graduate study course under the heading Physiotherapy. The text is dealt with a simple, systematic classified and practical manner, avoiding complicated details, so as to make it useful. More than 25 appropriate illustrations pertain mostly to various physiotherapeutic modalities used in different disorders have been included to complement the text. Importance has been laid to include effective learning features such as exercises: review questions, contains more than fifty solved objective/subjective types questions, help reinforce key information for various entrance tests viz: Pre-P.G, ICAR-JRF, ICAR-SRF, NET, ARS, Pre-IAS, Union PSC, State PSC, State civil services examination and interviews. Appendices and available glossary on physiotherapy related terms have been also incorporated for the benefit of ready and quick reference. Key comprehensive yet concise references have been given to lead the users for further readings. This book apart from meeting the professional needs of undergraduate/postgraduate students, teachers, scientists, clinicians of veterinary universities/colleges, will also serve as a reference book for field veterinarians.
