Successful romance novelist Nat Noland has just had his cage severely rattled. After making up a silly e-mail address and using it on a whim to send God a short list of ideas for punishments, or “just desserts,” Nat, a dyed-in-the-wool atheist, is shocked to receive a reply. Now with cryptic messages containing enigmatic instructions popping up every day from God on his computer and sleepless nights the norm, Nat just can’t seem to concentrate on his new novel, or anything else. To decipher the meaning of this unintentionally solicited divine intervention – and hopefully end his writer’s block – Nat follows God’s prompts and ultimately finds himself addressing the U.N. General Assembly.
