Paul Shuch of SETI fame), mermaids (Cat Rambo and Mike Resnick), ancient immortals who guide our breeding (Steven Popkes), quality management (Allen Steele), and—of all things!—Santa Claus (James Cambias). Not to mention the squirrels (Sarah Smith).
