Where terrorism is concerned, the 2000s are most associated with the 9/11 attack on American soil and the War on Terrorism that followed. But many other parts of the world experienced terrorist attacks and wars during the decade, as well as dramatic hostage situations, coups, acts of genocide, and other violent conflicts.
