Totally updated for the "next generation" GMAT scheduled to launch in June 2012! The new edition of the book-CD version of McGraw-Hill's popular guide to the business school entrance exam taken by more than 265,000 people annually, including crucial information for the thousands of international GMAT takers.
About the Book
McGraw-Hill's GMAT guide is totally revised to cover the "next generation" GMAT: a new version of the exam containing a brand-new question type called "integrated reasoning" that requires test-takers to analyze information from varied sources including charts, graphs, and spreadsheets. The guide also offers examples, strategies, and practice for every question type, plus full-length sample tests in print, on CD, and online.
Market/Audience
Over 1500 universities in the US offer graduate degrees in management or business administration, and most of these require the GMAT for admission.
The number of GMAT test takers in 2009 reached nearly 267,000, the most in one year in the history of the exam. Beyond growing larger, the GMAT testing pool is becoming more international and increasingly diverse. Approximately 51 percent of the people who took the GMAT in 2009 were non-U.S. citizens—the first time that test takers who were citizens of other nations outnumbered Americans.
GMAT exams taken by Chinese citizens rose 35 percent in testing year 2009 compared with the year before, to 23,550; the number is up 181 percent since 2005. Tests taken by citizens of India were up 7 percent in testing year 2009, to 30,633, capping a 128 percent increase during the past five years.
