Beth is new to Pebble Beach area. She and her new husband are starting their life together in the old cottage behind the lighthouse. Their family was not happy about them being together but couldn't give them a good reason why they shouldn't be married. They decided to take Beth's grandmother's offer for Beth to stay at the family cottage for the summer as a beginning of their life together. Garrett would start work as a fisherman.
