To the public, they are known as the Renaissance Club, an academic gathering of nerds; in reality, the group consists of six other teenagers who are in fact Star-Children – light years ahead of other teens. As Aelves, they have been genetically gifted with the most amazing talents, one of which includes the ability to leave their bodies behind and fly through the MoonGate – a mystical portal which is directly connected to, but unseen by, the normal waking world.
Enercorp, a greedy corporation on the opposite side of the globe, has stolen the research of Sara's father – they have begun building the first of many copies of his incredible Unity Point device, a mysterious machine with which they intend to monopolize the entire global production of energy. Sara finally learns how to use the MoonGate, which allows her and her fellow Aelves to quietly gather information on Enercorp's twisted CEO, Damien Haig. But the world and the MoonGate both hold many mysteries, and Sara must navigate a frightening array of obstacles if she hopes to save the Earth from complete annihilation.
Through all her recent strife, young Sara has met another truly pivotal person. Her new friend and class-mate Josh, who has stood by her side through many perils, and has since found a very special place in Sara's heart. They are sharing their very first romance, completely innocent but with a strength tried by fire. In a concerted effort with Josh, and with her new friends and her august mentors, Sara and company finally confront the dark beings which surround Damien Haig, while they work at protecting the world from Enercorp.
