"In the best possible future, there will be no war, no famine, no crime, no sickness, no oppression, no fear, no limits, no shame...and nothing to do." Long before Nick Bostrom's "Superintelligence," Roger Williams wrote and published a short novel called, "The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect" which became a cult classic of the new literature of singularity science fiction. At turns shocking and humorous, the novel looks unflinchingly at the extremes of human behavior that might emerge when all limits are removed— and it was quoted everywhere from IEEE to the Guardian.

In this short article, previously posted to a non-defunct fan blog, Roger Williams talks about the inspiration, the ideas, and the community behind the creation of this novel as well as his other works.
