Do you know the difference between a stoat and a weasel? Can you explain what a fractal is? What is the Doppler effect? Is a sea cucumber a fruit or a vegetable—or neither? More Mind-Bending Puzzles and Fascinating Facts poses the questions and gives the answers. Following the success of his first volume, Mind-Bending Puzzles and Fascinating Facts, published in 2011, the author has written this sequel, once again packed full of brainteasers and interesting information. Its contents range from nonsense poems to Occam's razor; from how to find the centre of a piece of paper, to an explanation of mathematical calculus. It is conveniently divided into sections which graduate from Easy to Fiendish, covering science, mathematics, philosophy and general knowledge. Ideal for those with active and enquiring minds to dip into for entertainment and mental stimulation, it contains something to interest everyone.

Paul Williams was born in Bristol and attained an MA in Maths, Psychology and Philosophy from Balliol College, Oxford. Paul lectured in social work at the University of Reading from 1991 to 2007, when he retired. He continues to advocate on behalf of vulnerable people. He is author or co-author of books on self-advocacy by people with learning difficulties, on social work with those people, and on anti-oppressive practice in health and social care. Paul also published Mind-Bending Puzzles and Fascinating Facts with Book Guild last year, and currently lives in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
