This book may be considered as a "spinoff" of Clayton Ruby's Sentencing, 10th ed., which was published in November 2020. In particular, this text attempts to provide a more concise version of Chapter 23 "Range of Sentence" of the Sentencing treatise, which examines ranges of sentences imposed by sentencing judges, set by courts of appeal and, more rarely, considered by the Supreme Court of Canada. This text focuses on recent cases so as to provide the reader with a current snapshot of sentencing decisions.
