THE Water Square • Texture in this piece is important, so Steph has used lots of chunky yarn and different types of fabrics. The base is wool roving and all of the stitching is done with free-motion quilting and thread sketching techniques – this includes the free-motion appliqué of the windmill, tank and trough. The dimensional wattle across the lower area adds even more texture and movement.
